Happy 49th Birthday To Popular Yoruba Movie Star “Bukky Wright”

Sekinat Oluwabukola Ajoke Wright a.k.a Bukky Wright” was born on the 31st of March 1967.

She attended Kola Way To Success in Ijebu-Ode, when she moved to Lagos she studied at Saint Paul’s Anglican Grammar School Isolo Ishaga then she proceeded to MHS in Okota, she finished her secondary school education at Top Tutors College Ilupeju and from there she proceeded to University of Lagos (Unilag) where she studied Economics.

She began her acting career in 1996 when her friend San George introduced her to Fidelis Duker. 1999 was the breakthrough to her career after Tunde Kelani featured her in his movie titled “Saworo Ide” she played the role of Olori to Oba Onijogbo, Wale Adenuga’s Super Story also introduced her to a larger audience, Some of the other movies she featured include Above Love, Without Shame, Tolulope, The Cartel. Abeni, Outkast, Kodun Kopo Kope, Unforgivable, Omotara Johnson, Dugbe Dugbe, Red Hot etc.

She has won several awards for her career and as served as Brand Ambassador to variety of companies. Early last month she bagged an endorsement deal with Elkris Super Oat, She has two sons who are both graduate from Rutgers University in New Jersey, her first son Olugbenga who goes by the stage name Ojayy Wright is an Afro Pop artist.

Today the prestigious award winning goddess is a year older, Happy Birthday to Bukky Wright.

Davido’s Artiste, Danagog, Declares Wizkid Babe, Tania Omotayo, His Woman Crush (Photo)

Today, Danagog who signed to Davido’s HKN label in 2014 took to Instagram to apologise for insulting Wizkid’s on-and-off girlfriend Tania Omotoya, and it has us scratching our heads.

“I would like to apologize for my inappropriate behavior,” the singer said, adding, “It was meant to be a freestyle to laugh about, I would never disrespect a woman.”

“I realized my mistake and I would like to seek for Miss @taniaomotayo forgiveness,” the upcoming ‘Hookah’ continued in the remorseful post, “Once again please accept my sincere apologies.”

And then he declared Tania Omotayo his Woman Crush Wednesday.

Well, save for one fan who said he didn’t need to apologise for whatever he said, others, like me, are wondering what exactly he said.

A quick check online reveals no trace of the said freestyle, and his latest single, ‘Hookah’, is mildly successful.

And so, the questions is this: If you insulted someone and no one heard it, did you really insult them? Or even need a public apology?

We can’t wait to read Tania Omotayo’s response to this.

Egypt 1-0 Nigeria (Super Eagles say goodbye to AFCON 2017)

The Super Eagles are now doomed in their aspirations to qualify for next year's AFCON tournament in Gabon after losing 0-1 to Egypt in Alexandria tonight. The task before the Eagles became tougher after Friday’s 1-1 draw with Egypt in Kaduna and the withdrawal of Chad from the AFCON race. Nigeria missed out on the 2015 edition in Equatorial Guinea and were desperate for a return. The first half ended goalless with the Super Eagles keeping to coach Samson Siasia's tactical master plan to keep proceedings neat and tidy and then attack the Egyptians on the counter. But with the Egyptians resolute they soon found a way past the Nigerians in the second half. 19 year old Ramadan Sobhy scored in the 65th minute after a deflection off his shot ensured the Super Eagles left the field with hands in their mouth. Upon scoring Nigeria, the Egyptians introduced a striker with the hope that they could pull the Nigerian defence across the lines knowing fully well the Nigerians will attack, attack and attack as they needed a goal badly. Ighalo, ineffective throughout the match, drifted towards the left side as new entrant Alex Iwobi and Ahmed Musa tried to play centrally. Time and time again, Nigeria were thwarted by the Egyptian defence causing the Nigerian backline to play high up and expose themselves in 3 vs 4 or 3 vs 5 situations. And then the moment of hope came! Victor Moses, hardworking through out the night blazed a rocketing shot from almost 30 yards which hit the bar and spiraled towards the other corner. Victor Moses and the Super Eagles bench were distraught, how wasn't that a goal? Even with four minutes of extra time, the Super Eagles looked more likely conceding a goal than scoring one. Nigeria with 2 points from three games, with just one game against Tanzania remaining, is effectively out of qualification for next year's AFCON tournament.

Yesterday, Thursday, March 24, 2016, Nigerian Twitter was agog in a raging debate kicked off by a Reekadict who felt that Mavin singer, Reekado Banks was a much better artist than Wizkid.

But Reekado 'being the humble guy that he is' has set the records straight reminding fans he is still an upcoming artiste.

He took to Twitter and wrote,

“Let me clear the air real quick. Wizkid isn’t only my mentor but one of the GREATS who have paved way for the young ones like me,” Reekado Banks tweeted yesterday, adding, “Please dont disrespect Wizkid by comparing him to me wey just dey start abeg.”

This is not the first time the ‘Katapot’ singer is being compared to another artiste.

In January, after he won the Headies Next rated category, beating the likes of Cynthia Morgan and Lil Kesh, fans took to social media to make comparisons between him and Lil Kesh.

Since, Banks has shut down this new debate, we hope his fans can stop with the comparisms.

Meanwhile, the singer recently revealed he is not close friends with YBNL act, Lil Kesh. According to the talented act, he and Kesh weren't close friends but maintained that they have a cordial relationship despite the Headies drama.
